Malaysia Stocks Exchange

The Malaysia Stocks Exchange is among the largest stocks exchanges in Asia with a market capitalization of $380 billion. Located in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, most of the companies listed on the exchange are predominantly Malaysia based companies that conduct their trade using the Malaysian Ringgit. Foreign companies are allowed to trade at the exchange using different currencies. The exchange is currently ranked 27th in terms of market capitalization. In 2007, Bursa Malaysia Securities Clearing created a new system known as Bursa SBL. The system was generated in order to show which shares are eligible for lending or borrowing. Under the system in Malaysia, all securities borrowing and lending activities must take place under the approval of the Central Lending Agency (CLA). Under the clearance of CLA, it then means that all eligible participants are authorized lenders and borrowers.
